How to Install Gold Bot EA on MetaTrader
Follow these step-by-step instructions to install and activate your Gold Bot Expert Advisor
Download the EA File
After receiving your license key, download the appropriate EA file:
- For MT4: GoldBot.ex4 file
- For MT5: GoldBot.ex5 file
Save the file to a location you can easily find on your computer.
Note: Download will be available when you receive your license key.
Locate MetaTrader Data Folder
Open your MetaTrader platform and go to:
File → Open Data Folder
This will open the MetaTrader data directory on your computer.
Copy EA to Experts Folder
Navigate to the appropriate folder:
- MT4: MQL4 → Experts
- MT5: MQL5 → Experts
Copy the downloaded GoldBot EA file into this folder.
Restart MetaTrader Platform
Completely close and restart your MetaTrader platform.
This is necessary for the platform to recognize the new EA file.
Enable Automated Trading
Before using the EA, ensure automated trading is enabled:
Tools → Options → Expert Advisors
Check the following settings:
- ✓ Enable Expert Advisors
- ✓ Allow automated trading
- ✓ Allow DLL imports
- ✓ Allow external experts
Attach EA to Chart
Open a chart for XAUUSD (Gold) and attach the EA:
- Open Navigator panel (Ctrl+N)
- Expand "Expert Advisors" section
- Find "GoldBot" in the list
- Drag and drop it onto the XAUUSD chart
Or right-click on GoldBot and select "Attach to chart".
Configure EA Settings
When you attach the EA, a settings window will appear:
- License Key: Enter your license key
- Risk Level: Choose your EA settings carefully
Click OK to save settings and start the EA.
Verify EA is Running
Check if Gold Bot is working correctly:
- Look for the smiley face icon in top-right corner of chart
- Check Experts tab in Terminal window for messages
- Verify license activation message
- Monitor for trading activity during market hours
Troubleshooting Common Issues

EA Not Showing in Navigator
- Restart MetaTrader completely
- Check file is in correct Experts folder
- Verify file extension (.ex4 for MT4, .ex5 for MT5)
- Ensure no compilation errors in Experts tab
License Key Not Working
- Check for typos in license key
- Verify license is for correct platform (MT4/MT5)
- Ensure license hasn't expired
- Contact support for license verification
EA Not Trading
- Check automated trading is enabled
- Verify account has sufficient margin
- Ensure trading is allowed on XAUUSD
- Check market hours (Gold trades 24/5)
Performance Issues
- Use M1 or M5 timeframe for best results
- Ensure stable internet connection
- Run on VPS for 24/7 operation
- Monitor EA messages in Experts tab
