Scroll up to the Download section and click GoldBot Air v2.2 — MT5 .ex5 to download the latest EA file to your computer. Save it somewhere easy to find.

Tip: Always use the latest version (v2.2) for the best features and bug fixes.

📂 Open the MetaTrader Data Folder

In MetaTrader 5, go to the top menu and click:

File → Open Data Folder

This opens the folder where MetaTrader stores all its files on your computer.

📋 Copy the EA File to the Experts Folder

Inside the data folder, navigate to:

MQL5 → Experts

Copy the downloaded GoldBotAir_v22.ex5 file into this Experts folder.

🔄 Restart MetaTrader 5

Completely close MetaTrader 5 and reopen it. This is required for MT5 to recognise the new EA file.

Important: Just minimising is not enough — fully close and reopen MT5.

⚙️ Enable Automated Trading

Before attaching the EA, make sure automated trading is enabled in MT5:

Tools → Options → Expert Advisors

Make sure these boxes are ticked:

✅ Allow automated trading
✅ Allow DLL imports
✅ Allow external experts imports

Also click the AutoTrading button in the top toolbar to enable it — it should turn green.

📈 Open a XAUUSD Chart

In the Market Watch panel (press Ctrl+M to open it), find XAUUSD (Gold) and double-click it to open a chart. Set the timeframe to M5 for best results.

🤖 Attach GoldBot Air to the Chart

Open the Navigator panel (Ctrl+N), expand the Expert Advisors section, find GoldBotAir_v22 and drag it onto the XAUUSD chart.

A settings window will open. In the Inputs tab, find the LicenseKey field and paste your license key. Click OK.

✅ Verify the EA is Running

You should see a small smiley face icon in the top-right corner of the XAUUSD chart. Check the Experts tab in the Terminal window (press Ctrl+T) for messages like:

✅ LICENSE VALID — GoldBot Air initialized

✅ You're live! GoldBot Air will now automatically open and manage trades on XAUUSD. The GoldBot Cloud panel will appear on your chart showing live stats.

EA Not Showing in Navigator

Fully restart MetaTrader 5
Check file is in MQL5 → Experts folder
Verify the file is .ex5 (not .ex4) for MT5
Right-click Navigator → Refresh

Copy the key directly — avoid typing manually
Make sure account number in EA matches your MT5 login
Check your license hasn't expired above
Contact support if issue persists

EA Not Opening Trades

Check AutoTrading button is green in toolbar
Verify XAUUSD is available and market is open
Ensure sufficient free margin in account
Check Experts tab for error messages

Smiley Face is Sad / Grey

Grey face = EA is loaded but AutoTrading is OFF
Click the AutoTrading button in the top toolbar
Sad face = EA has an error — check Experts tab
Re-attach the EA and re-enter your license key
